Be Sepharad-Sephardic Legacy organizes for the first time a package of trips for the month of August, customized for the Sephardic tourism of the family «De Marchena» next August 23-30 will return to visit the land of their ancestors, Marchena.
The program it was designed by the Be Sepharad Association with Revista Saber Más, Marchena magazine and the Singularize travel agency that will be specifically promoted among the descendants of the Sephardic De Marchena family.
The program is composed of a seven-day trip through Andalusia including two days in Marchena, and continues to Seville, Cordoba, Lucena and Granada, with a personalized program designed by Be Sepharad including activities of gastronomy, culture and Sephardic personalized music.

Travel in search of the memory, history and culture of the Jews and crypto-Jews of Sefarad, as well as the Legacy that they kept in their journey through the world after being expelled, the Sephardic legacy. Join us to visit those places of Jewish memory. We will approach that historical stage through experiences or cultural experiences of Jewish and Sephardic themes. A tryp to the past where you will discover your roots in Andalusia.
PROGRAM
Day 01. Arrival in Marchena.
Free morning for the arrival of the participants. 14h Welcome lunch set. (€ 25, pax). Break. 8:30 p.m. Didactic tour through the medieval city walls and viewpoint of the Duquesa. 9pm Tapas route, and accommodation in Marchena.

Day 02. The Sefarad footprint in Marchena.
9: 30-10: 30h. Breakfast. 10:30 am «Walk through the memory of Marchena», we will visit those places of special significance for the history of the converts or crypto-Jews, churches of special significance, archives, places of the Inquisition, etc. 12:30 Lecture on the history of the Jews of Sefarad, and Marchena. The converse families, and their diaspora. 14:00 Free time for lunch, walk and rest. 8:00 p.m. Talk about the Jewish diaspora, and Legacy of the Sephardim. 9:00 PM Dinner. Hotel in Marchena.
Day 03. The Sefarad footprint in Seville.
8:30 – 9:30 Breakfast in Marchena. 9:30 Departure for Seville. 11:00 Didactic walk through the old Jewish Quarter of Seville; through pleasant comments, anecdotes and stories we will know the most significant places of it, like the remains and evidences of the Jewish cemetery, synagogues etc. the life of the Sevillian Jews, as well as the life and customs of the Jews of Sepharad until the end of the 15th century.
13:00 Departure to Triana, we will cross the Guadalquivir river and visit the Interpretation Center of the Castle of San Jorge, former seat of the Inquisition, among other areas linked to the history of the court in Seville, with the relevant explanations to understand the origin and motivations of the persecution and eradication of Jewish practices, the converse and crypto-Jewish phenomenon and meet the most important figures with a Judeo-Converse past.
We will finish this visit at the Monument to Tolerance to which Elie Wiesel dedicated a poem on the V Anniversary of the Expulsion of the Jews.14:00 Lunch in the heart of Triana. Rest of the afternoon we will have free to visit some of the most important monuments of the city: Cathedral and Giralda and Reales Alcázares, both declared World Heritage by UNESCO. 21:00 Tapas by the Jewish Quarter, and Flamenco in the «Casa de la Guitarra», this optionally. Day 04. The Jewish Cordoba.
08:00 – 08: 45h Breakfast 09.00h Departure to Córdoba. 10.30h We started the route: Capital of the Omeya Caliphate of Cordoba, the city had one of the most important Jewish communities and was the birthplace of the famous Jewish philosopher and physician Maimonides. Its extraordinary historical heritage makes it one of the tourist cities of Spain par excellence.The visit to Córdoba will begin with a walk through the streets of its Jewish quarter, where we can visit what was once a synagogue. In the same Jewish quarter you will find Casa Sefarad, one of the most outstanding and rigorous Jewish themed interpretation centers.
13.00h Cordovan appetizer.14.00h Sephardic Lunch: In the Jewish quarter of Córdoba we will be able to delight ourselves with the delicious Jewish gastronomy. We will taste Sephardic dishes whose origin, ingredients and way of preparation we will briefly explain before eating. In this way we experience a new facet of culture through the palate. After lunch, we visited a tearoom with tasting Arab sweets. 4.30 pm General visit of Cordoba: Free time will be enjoyed to know the main attraction of the city, the imposing mosque-cathedral of Cordoba, as well as other places, such as the Calahorra tower, the Arab Baths. Day 05. Lucena: return to Eliossana.
9: 00-10: 00. Breakfast. 10: 00h We left for Lucena.The only Jewish necropolis that can be visited in Spain is in the province of Córdoba. His discovery, in 2006, alerted the Sephardic community, eager to recover the history of what was almost an independent republic during the Caliphate of the West and the kingdoms of Taifas: the old Eliossana.11: 30h Visit to the Jewish cemetery, and educational tour around the city: Lucena «La Perla de Sefarad».
Anyone can visit a unique space in the history of Andalusia. And to know the importance of Lucena, of Eliossana, for the Jewish legacy. A land that created the Talmudic School after falling Granada and Cordoba, a Hebrew university that taught disciplines such as astrology or mathematics and languages such as Arabic, Latin or Castilian. Day 06. Granada
9: 00-10h. Breakfast. 10:30 am Must visit to the Alhambra. Duration 3 hours. Free lunch. 6:00 p.m. «Garnata Al-Yahudí». Educational trip through emblematic places of the city and its Jewish history. 9:00 p.m. Tapas for Granada. 22:00. Flamenco in the Albaicín. (optional). Dinner and accommodation in GranadaDay 07. Return to Seville. Breakfast. We will leave in the direction of Seville, where we will leave the participants so that they can return to their respective points of origin.
